New Swindon Open Studios 2011 Website

Tim and I have just used Paula Sullivan's image on the title page of the newly created Swindon Open Studios 2011 website.
Tim as a participant in this year's Open Studios, and as the creator of the website, already has a picture in our gallery.
You will be able to join Open Studios and the gallery soon, we are working on some of the fine details.
In the meantime , checkout the website at: www.swindonopenstudios.org.uk

Substance Exhibition- enter by the 24th of Jan.

SUBSTANCE
Opening night Sat 21st May at 6pm

18th – 28th May

Artsite Limited (a registered charity) is calling textile/mixed media artists to submit work for SUBSTANCE; a curated exhibition seeking to capture the essence of an important 20th Century female figure.

We are looking for innovative, colourful art that explores pattern and surface quality.

Consider the historical and social aspects of textiles by using a diverse range of contemporary materials such as wire, wood, metal and paint alongside stitch and cloth. Knitting, weaving and lace work is also desirable.

The aim is to reveal a sense of self and Identity finding connections between the tactile and touching quality of textiles to express emotion.

The intention of SUBSTANCE is to highlight the importance of textile art and promote local artists.
